Betty Adera is an upcoming and promising Political Leader in Kenya currently operating on the national political platform and seeks to be the next Member of Parliament for Westlands Constituency, Nairobi.
She is the current National Chairperson KANU Women Congress (KWC), KANU Party BBI Secretariat Member, and Ms. President Nairobi County. Betty is also the Team Leader of the Research and Policy Committee and a Think Tank for women affairs in KWC having developed the first-ever Training Manual for KWC Aspirants and Members. She will be the Master Trainer of Trainers for its rollout across all 47 Counties of Kenya. She has also spearheaded the development of the KWC Strategic Plan (2021/23) and the KWC Charter. Betty recently vied for the Nairobi Gubernatorial seat in 2020/21 and has her eyes on the upcoming 2022 general elections in Nairobi County.

As Ms. President Nairobi County, she continues to galvanize leadership potential for women and youth by reaching them where they are with tailored interventions and mentorship opportunities. Professionally, Betty is a celebrated Global Public Health and Policy Specialist with over 22 years of Senior Management experience from both local and international NGOs within Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America. Betty has a Master of Science Degree in Public Health from the University of Western Cape, South Africa, and is pursuing her Doctorate studies in Global Public Health at EUCLID University.
She has founded the Betty Adera Foundation International, a collaboration of grassroots women and youth to champion gender equality and equity, challenge all forms of gender-based violence, promote women and girls in leadership, talent nurturing and linkage to opportunities, climate action, and foster socio-economic resilience of women and youth in the on-going COVID-19 pandemic.
