The Democracy Trust Fund (DTF) today hosted a high-level delegation from UN Women’s Regional and Kenya Country Offices, marking a key moment in the ongoing efforts to advance inclusive governance. This visit followed a comprehensive Quarterly Monitoring Mission to Echo Network Africa Foundation (ENAF), highlighting the critical role DTF plays as a local implementing partner. The delegation included Mr. Michael Faraday and Mr. Junius Thara from the Regional Office, accompanied by Ms. Hellen Muchunu and Ms. Naomi Bosibori from the Kenya Country Office, all of whom engaged with the DTF team to review the progress of shared initiatives.
As the lead entity for ENAF’s political programmes, DTF continues to spearhead the design and execution of initiatives specifically tailored to enhance women’s leadership and democratic participation. The visit provided an opportunity to showcase how these programmes are being implemented on the ground, ensuring that governance remains representative and accountable. By bridging the gap between regional strategy and local action, DTF demonstrated its capacity to transform high-level objectives into tangible outcomes for women in the political sphere.
The engagement underscored the strength of the partnership between UN Women, ENAF, and DTF in fostering an environment where inclusive leadership can thrive. Discussions focused on the impact of current programmes and the strategic importance of sustained monitoring to ensure long-term institutional growth. This mission not only validated the hard work of the DTF team but also reinforced a collective commitment to building a more equitable political landscape through robust collaboration and innovative programming.
