Day Two of the County Assemblies Women Caucus Workshop at Semara Hotel, Machakos County, focused on advancing women’s representation and strengthening electoral preparedness ahead of the 2027 General Elections.
During the session, Democracy Trust Fund (DTF) Executive Director Ms. Juliana Kiio delivered a presentation on strategies for enhancing women’s competitiveness and success in the 2027 General Elections, drawing from the County Assembly 750 (CA 750) Strategy.
The session highlighted practical and strategic actions that women leaders and aspirants can undertake to strengthen their electoral preparedness, including early political positioning, effective engagement with political parties, understanding electoral laws and IEBC processes, building grassroots support structures, strategic communication, and navigating nomination processes.

The discussion further emphasized the importance of sustained investment in women’s leadership at the county level, recognizing counties as critical platforms for nurturing the next generation of national leaders.
As Kenya moves towards the 2027 General Elections, strengthening the capacity, visibility, and preparedness of women leaders remains central to achieving inclusive governance and increased representation in elective leadership.
