Prof. Jacqueline Adhiambo Oduol from Orange Democratic Movement is currently vying for the Member of Parliament position in Alego-Usonga constituency, Siaya County. She is a Post-Doctoral Fellow from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign in the USA, holds a PhD in Linguistics & African Languages from the University of Nairobi, and Masters in Arts, Linguistics from the University of Nairobi.
Prof. Oduol is a Kenyan academic, thought leader, international consultant, communicator, and manager with long-standing experience from senior positions in the civil service, academia, civil society, and politics. She is also a Senior policy advisor, researcher, gender expert, and trainer in various institutions across Africa, and a consultant for global inter-and non-governmental organizations such as the UNDP and USAID. Over the years she has learned to develop solutions and create mechanisms that yield desired results.
Some of her key career highlights include Nominated MP in the National Assembly, 12th Parliament of Kenya, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Gender, Children Social Development in 2012, Secretary for Children Affairs, Ministry of Gender Children and Social Development in 2008 and Member of the National Commission on Gender & Development in 2004.
