The Democracy Trust Fund (DTF) was honored to participate in the Women Legislators Conference 2026, convened by the County Assemblies Forum and held from 3rd–5th March 2026 at Embu University, Embu County under the theme:
“Advancing Justice and Leading Change: Breaking Structural Barriers to Secure Inclusive Leadership and Equal Opportunities for All.”
DTF’s Executive Director, Ms. Juliana Kiio, contributed to the conversation as both a speaker and panelist during the session on “Women’s Leadership in the 21st Century: Nomination vs Election – Challenges and Opportunities.” The discussion brought together women legislators, governance actors, and civil society leaders to reflect on the structural, political, and institutional barriers that continue to affect women’s participation and influence in leadership.
