Women Manifesto Bungoma County
The history of the struggle by women to liberate themselves from the patriarchal systems and structures of oppression and exploitation and the quest for women’s participation in governance, leadership and other spheres of public life has continued for decades. Guided by Article 27 of the Constitution, Bungoma County is committed to promoting equitable participation of women in governance, leadership and development processes. Indeed, women constitute more than 50 percent of the total population of the County and yet they are under-represented, marginalized and discriminated in political leadership and decision-making space.
