A professor of Public Health and a former Dean of the School of Dental Sciences at the University of Nairobi, Loice Gathece, eyes the Mwea parliamentary seat in this year’s election. She has been ably identified by the Mwea people through the projects they have collaboratively completed or initiated. For instance, she has completed two water projects in Gategi and Thiba, and one is ongoing in the Nyangati area. A total of 80 students have also managed to go to school courtesy of her financial support.
Cognizant that her people have suffered from a poor state of health and education, Prof. Loice plans to address these challenges in partnership with the community.
In Parliament, she hopes to put her knowledge and skills to practice by designing appropriate laws for the benefit of all Kenyans. She endeavors to sponsor citizen-centered bills, especially on public health, which will, in essence, benefit the people of Mwea.
